Read our transparency report to learn February 13, 2023 via mobile First visit to this restaurant during my daytrip to Saarbrücken and yup it was a great one. I never tried a Balkan restaurant before apart Romanian so had to go try it out. And yup it was good! I like that the restaurant is very...pretty inside. Its not new by any way and has a rather old look but yet authentic which makes it look better then most ''new modern look'' Restaurants. The service was good and the food as well! They portions were big honestly and I did not even manage to finish my main dish after I got the starter and the salad they give you. It is not a cheap restaurant but the prices are still fair! If you are into meat, you won't be disappointed! There is a diversity in the meals they offer, the waiters are lovely and the restaurant's decor is charming. Read our transparency report to learn March 1, 2016 Second visit to this restaurant, first was really enjoyable. But this time.... We went for dinner, the food is really good. We are collegues and as we travel for work, we need to keep the bills in order to be refunded. This time, the person...responsible who's not the owner of the restaurant, didn't take any credit card and we had to tip one euro in order to have our bills. He keeps mumbking in german "you have to pay for these pieces of paper". So we won't go in this restaurant ever, too bad... Read our transparency report to learn November 18, 2015 This is a very typical menu of meat, meat, more meat, potatoes and hot peppers just like you would find in the Balkans. There is chopped salad and a couple of fish dishes as well. Do not expect small portions, there is a lot of...food on each plate. One order of chopped salad is enough for two. Prices are reasonable although drinks can be a little high. Enjoy the "Slivo" before, after and during the meal. Wait staff is a toss up of either fun or dour, seating is comfy and the entire place is very family friendly. The restaurant itself is on a side street off of a main street near the local city hall. It is somewhat difficult to find, but we always carry a GPS with us so we had no...trouble. The restaurant has a huge menu of almost 8 full pages and trying to find the right thing to eat can be difficult as there are so many good things to choose from. We started with a Kostrizer which is a Schwarz bier or dark lager beer which were 3 euros per beer. It is a very good lager and pours a reddish brown color. I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy a dark beer. My husband and I finally made a decision of the Kalbsmedaillons "Marsalasosse" which is a veal medaillons in a rich Marsala sauce with Pommes Frittes and an accompaning salad. We also ordered the Jagerschnitzel which was an Escalope Pork Schnitzel with the same side dishes. They were both tasty and filling with no room for dessert. The entire lunch for two people came to euros which included 3 beers. The Kalbsmedaillons was 20 euros while the Jagerschnitzel was euros. We were seated in a booth with a view of the outside street. The view is nothing spectacular but a street of small buildings of no particular interest of architecture. The inside of the restaurant was nice with dark wood and a small bar area and more seating in the back of the restaurant. The menus came in French, German and English and our waitperson spoke very good English. If we would ever be back in Saarbrucken, we would definitely try some of the other interesting food on its extensive menu. I would recommend this for a nice reasonable lunch for the type of food served which I would say was Eastern European. The restaurant was quite full with many repeat customers. The customers seemed to know the waitstaff and called them by of visit October 2012Helpful?This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
